Gas Works

Gas Works

A view looking west from the locally known 'Crem' (Park Wood Crematorium), length with the towpath to the left and the A6025 to the right. Access is reasonable for the disabled via an alley off Gasworks lane, (the road is half way across the Elland Bridge) foot access can be made via the lock adjacent to the main road. The length runs from Elland bridge and runs behind the 'Barges and Barrel public house. No fishing in the marina, fish from towpath only.

The width varies in from 11-18m, the main shelf being opposite the towpath and the track is from 1-1.75m deep in places. Bream, roach and perch are the main target though some good chub can be caught using appropriate methods and baits. Some astute members are pre-baiting and then fishing early doors with good results.
